The Indian equity benchmark Sensex declined over 215 points on Wednesday, weighed by losses in index heavyweight Reliance Industries, Bajaj Finserv, and Tata Steel after the Reserve Bank raised the key interest rate by 35 basis points.
Barring Nifty PSU Bank (+0.26%) and Nifty FMCG (+0.96%), all Nifty sectoral indices closed in the red. The worst performers were Nifty Media (-1.45%), Nifty Metal (-0.88%) and Nifty Consumer Durables (-1.06%)

According to domestic brokerage Motilal Oswal, the benchmark index Nifty touched a fresh high of 18,816 levels, ending over 4 per cent higher month-on-month (MoM) at 18,758 in November 2022.
The 30-share BSE benchmark ended 208.24 points or 0.33 per cent lower at 62,626.36. The broader NSE Nifty declined 58.30 points or 0.31 per cent to end at 18,642.75.

Nifty, Sensex, top gainers, top losers Losers, Hindalco, Tata Steel, Tech Mahindra: The Indian equity benchmark indices ended on a flat note on Monday, with the BSE Sensex falling nearly 34 points, recording its second day of decline after an eight-day rally.
In the 50-stock index, 27 advanced while 23 declined. Among top gainers were metal stocks led by Hindalco Industries, JSW Steel and Tata Steel. UPL and ONGC were also other gainers on the 50-stock Nifty50 index
Stock Markets HIGHLIGHTS: Indian stock markets traded in a range on Monday with frontline indices ending flat. The 30-stock S&P BSE Sensex closed at 62,834.60, down 33.9 points or 0.05 per cent while NSE Nifty50 managed a positive closing at 18,701.05, up 5 points or 0.03 per cent. Banking gauge Nifty Bank settled positive at 43,332.95, up 229.20 points 0.53 per cent

Sensex climbed 184.54 points or 0.29 per cent to settle at 63,284.19 and Nifty advanced 54.15 points or 0.29 per cent to end at 18,812.50 – both closing at new life highs.

Investors wealth also climbed Rs 7,59,642.89 crore in seven days, taking the market capitalisation (mcap) of BSE-listed firms to Rs 2,88,50,896.03 crore.
The 30-share barometer rallied 417.81 points or 0.67 per cent to settle at 63,099.65, its fresh record closing high. The broader NSE Nifty advanced 140.30 points or 0.75 per cent to end at 18,758.35, its fresh record closing high.
Following the benchmarks' suit, the broader markets also witnessed a bull rally as the mid-cap and small-cap gained between 0.6-1.2 per cent.
Out of 15 Nifty sectoral indices, 14 ended in the green. The top performing indices were Nifty Auto, Nifty FMCG, Nifty Realty and Nifty Metal, each gaining over 1 per cent. Nifty PSU bank was the lone loser and fell 1.4%
