Taking to twitter on Monday, the EPFO further said that the certificate will be valid for one year from the date of submission.
“EPS’95 Pensioners can now submit Life Certificate at any time which will be valid for 1 year from date of submission,” the EPFO said in a tweet.
The EPFO has also informed that the life certificate can be submitted digitally at pension disbursing bank, common service centre, Indian Post Payments Bank or Indian Post Office or Postman, UMANG App or nearest EPFO office.
To submit the certificate, a pensioner should have the details such as – PPO number, Aadhaar number, bank account details, mobile number linked with Aadhaar.

Know how to Digital Life Certificate Service through banks
Public sector banks like the State Bank of India (SBI), Punjab National Bank (PNB), Bank of Baroda (BoB) and others offer the doorstep banking services to its customers.
You can book now by dialing at the following toll-free numbers – 1800 121 3721 and 1800 103 7188. One can also visit the official website www.psbdsb.in. You can also download the DSB Mobile App to book the service at your doorstep.
The bank’s agent will visit your house to capture the Jeevan Praman or Digital Life Certificate (DLC). The agent will complete the process and validate your DLC certificate.
Know Digital Life Certificate Service offered by IPPB
The India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) has been utilising its huge network of Postmen and Gramin Dak Sevaks in providing doorstep facility to pensioners for submission of life certificate digitally.
IPPB has customized its Bank software and dovetailed the same with Jeevan Pramaan software of Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) and UIDAI, to provide DLC services at the doorstep of Pensioners.
This facility shall be in addition to other facilities such as withdrawal of money from bank account etc. while sitting at home.
IPPB is utilising its national network of more than 1,36,000 access points in Post Offices and more than 1,89,000 Postmen & Gramin Dak Sevaks with smart phones and biometric devices to provide Doorstep Banking Services.
As a result, a huge number of pensioners across the country shall be able to avail doorstep service through Postmen/ Gramin Dak Sevak, without visiting to bank branch or standing in a queue outside the bank branches.
Know how to generate DLC at home
DLC can also be generated from home/any location on a Windows PC/Laptop (version 7 & above) or Android Mobile ( KitKat & above). To generate your DLC at home, you require internet connection and a STQC certified Biometric Device. Also, 'RD Service' of the Biometric Device being used should be installed on the PC/Laptop/mobile.
The 'JeevanPramaan Application' has to be installed on your PC/mobile. It can be downloaded from the 'Download' tab from https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in portal. Once your pramaan-id is generated, you can download the Digital Life Certificate by following the link https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in/ppouser/login.
In addition to the above given options, one can also obtain a DLC from various Citizen Service Centre (CSC) located across India. You can search nearest CSC by clicking on 'Locate a Centre' on https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in portal or alternately you can send SMS to 7738299899. You can SMS "JPL" followed by a space and your pin-code.
