Petrol, diesel Prices Today June 28, 2021: Fuel Rates unchanged on Monday; crude oil touches 2018 peak—check prices in four metro cities

The prices of petrol and diesel have been released by Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) for Monday, June 28, 2021. As per the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), the prices were kept unchanged on Monday. The fuel rates were increased on Sunday for the second consecutive day after deciding not to alter the prices on Friday.  

As per the revised rate by the IOCL, petrol and diesel prices showed no change in price from Sunday's rates, when petrol and diesel prices had gotten costlier by 35 and 25 paise respectively in the four metro cities.

Petrol and diesel prices in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai on June 28 

DELHI – On Monday, Petrol price was at Rs 98.46, while Diesel Price was at Rs 88.90.   

MUMBAI - Petrol price was at Rs 104.56, while Diesel Price was at Rs 96.42 on Monday.   

KOLKATA - Petrol price was at Rs 98.30 and Diesel Price was at Rs 91.75 as on June 28.  

CHENNAI – Petrol price was at Rs 99.49, while Diesel Price was Rs 93.46.   

How petrol and diesel prices are revised? 

Petrol and diesel prices are revised daily and effected at 6 am in the morning daily. The prices of petrol and diesel depend on the taxes imposed by central and state governments and price of crude oil in the international market.    

Crude Oil Prices 

Meanwhile, Oil prices climbed to highs last seen in October 2018 on Monday as the United States and Iran wrangled over the revival of a nuclear deal, delaying a surge in Iranian oil exports, while investors eyed the outcome of the OPEC+ meeting this week.  

Brent crude for August had gained 22 cents, or 0.3%, to $76.40 a barrel by 0051 GMT while US West Texas Intermediate crude for August was at $74.30 a barrel, up 25 cents, or 0.3%, as per Reuters 

Oil prices rose for a fifth week last week as fuel demand rebounded on strong economic growth and increased travel during summer in the northern hemisphere, while global crude supplies stayed snug as the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and their allies maintained production cuts.
