Madhya Pradesh Lok Sabha Election Result LIVE Updates: As India awaited the outcome of a vote-counting exercise for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections that began at 8 am on June 4, Madhya Pradesh took centrestage being the state with the sixth largest representation in the lower house of Parliament with its 29 Parliamentary constituencies. Madhya Pradesh Lok Sabha Election Result LIVE Updates: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was ahead in all of the 29 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh, as the country closely tracked incoming polls data amid the ongoing counting of votes on Tuesday, June 4. The early trends were in line with the exit polls, which predicted a clean sweep for the BJP with some surveys even estimating a 28-seat tally out of the total 29 Parliamentary constituencies. Jyotiraditya Scindia, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Faggan Singh Kulaste, Shankar Lalwani, Shivmangal Singh Tomar and Sandhya Rai were some of the prominent party leaders among the leading candidates, according to available counting trends. Digvijaya Singh, an Indian National Congress (INC) veteran, on the other hand, was trailing in Rajgarh, where Rodmal Nagar was ahead by a margin of 10,890 votes, the data showed.
In the Chhindwara Lok Sabha constituency, the BJP's Vivek Bunty Sahu was leading by 3,806 votes while the INC's sitting MP, Nakul Nath, was trailing.
Nakul Nath's father, veteran Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath said that he respects the verdict given by the electors amidst the initial counting trends.
The INC has been in possesion of the Chhindwara Lok Sabha seat since 1998.
Madhya Pradesh - the state with the sixth largest representation in the lower house of Parliament - took centrestage as the vote-counting exercise began at 8 am on June 4. The much anticipated vote-counting process undertaken by the Election Commission of India (ECI) will lead to the final verdict of a six-weeks-long polling exercise to elect a new government at the Centre.
Electors cast their ballots for the 29 Lok Sabha seats in the state in four out of the seven phases, between April 19 and May 13.

In the 2019 general election in the country, the Bharatiya Janata Party emerged the dominant party by securing 28 out of the 29 seats in the state while the remaining one seat, Chhindwara, went to the Indian National Congress (INC) party. In the 2014 polls, the BJP staged a a landslide victory by winning 27 seats, while the remaining two seats went to the INC.
The winning of 28 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh in 2019 was a major setback for the Indian National Congress (INC) part, which had won the state assembly polls in December 2018.
