Madhya Pradesh Lok Sabha Election Winners List 2024: BJP leads in all 29 Lok Sabha seats in state; Jyotiraditya Scindia, Shivraj Singh Chouhan ahead

Madhya Pradesh Lok Sabha Election Result LIVE Updates: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was ahead in all of the 29 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh, with prominent party leaders including Jyotiraditya Scindia, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Faggan Singh Kulaste, Shankar Lalwani, Shivmangal Singh Tomar, Sandhya Rai, Lata Wankhede, Virendra Kumar, Alok Sharma and Rodmal Nagar being among the leading candidates, according to available counting trends. Indian National Congress (INC) veteran Digvijaya Singh was trailing in Rajgarh, where Rodmal Nagar was leading by a margin of 10,890 votes, as per latest official figures.

In Chhindwara, the Congress party's sitting MP, Nakul Nath, was trailing wile the BJP's Vivek Bunty Sahu was leading by 3,806 votes.

Whiile Jyotiraditya Scindia is contesting from the Guna Lok Sabha constituency, Shivraj Singh Chouhan is fighting from Vidisha. Among other BJP leaders, Kulaste is contesting from Mandla, Lalwani from Indore, Tomar from Morena, Rai from Bhind, Wankhede from Sagar, Kumar from Tikamgarh, Sharma from Bhopal, and Nagar from Rajgarh.

The counting of votes commenced amid tight security arrangements at 8 am on Tuesday, June 4, as electors eagerly awaited the outcome of a six-weeks-long polling exercise conducted between April 19 and June 1.

Among the states at the centrestage was Madhya Pradesh - the state with the sixth largest representation in the Lok Sabha with its 29 Parliamentary constituencies. 

The mega vote-counting exercise comes days after exit polls predicted a clean sweep for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with some surveys even estimating a 28-seat tally out of the total 29 Parliamentary constituencies.

In the 2019 general election in the country, the Bharatiya Janata Party emerged the dominant party by securing 28 out of the 29 seats in the state while the remaining one seat, Chhindwara, went to the Indian National Congress (INC) party. In the 2014 polls, the BJP staged a a landslide victory by winning 27 seats, while the remaining two seats went to the INC. 

The winning of 28 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh in 2019 was a major setback for the Indian National Congress (INC) part, which had won the state assembly polls in December 2018.
