A statement by New Zealand Cricket, which is the governing body for the country's national team, has confirmed that the cricketer will undergo surgery within the next three weeks.
Upon receiving the news, Williamson acknowledged the support he had received from his franchise and New Zealand Cricket.

Williamson said: "I've received great support over the past few days."
He also thanked both the Gujarat Titans (GT) and New Zealand Cricket.
