Google Gemini gets smarter with new ‘memory’ feature: Here’s how it will enhance user experience

As Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to advance rapidly with each passing day, its indispensability can no longer be ignored. Bolstering this notion, Google Gemini now incorporates the feature to remember crucial details, including information related to lives, hobbies, and work preferences. This feature will look to make the interaction with AI smoother for a wider range of users by eliminating the need to re-explain preferences or instructions. 

Users simply need to inform Gemini how they want things organised, and the AI will handle it. This information can be managed easily through natural conversation or can be accessed via the ‘Saved Info’ page, which allows users to view, edit, or delete anything anytime. To keep users in the loop, Gemini will also inform users when the saved information is used. 

This update will mark the unlocking of a smarter and efficient AI experience by eliminating the need to repeat an input again and again. The latest functionality will make responses more relevant and on point. The feature is available with Gemini Advanced in English for Google AI Premium Plan subscribers. 

In other related developments, Google recently unveiled the Gemini AI app for iPhones. The development comes following Apple’s ChatGPT integration for iPhones in its iOS 18.2 beta. Moreover, it has sparked speculations regarding Apple’s potential ChatGPT integration into Siri next month.

This launch will enable iPhone users to interact with Gemini in a conventional manner, allowing them to interrupt, ask questions, or change topics seamlessly. It also includes an option to personalise Gemini’s voice with 10 distinct voice options. As of now, Gemini’s Live can be accessed in 10 languages by iPhone users. Furthermore, users can also have access to Imagen 3, Google’s image generation model. It helps users by transforming text descriptions into AI images. The app comes with features such as intelligent searches, live voice conversations, and integration with Google's services.
