It was only the second time in the history of IPL when more than 100 sixes were hit. The IPL 2023 season tops the chart with a record 1,124 sixes.

Most fifties in an IPL season
The record for the most half centuries in a single season was improved by 33 fifties. A total of 153 fifties were scored in IPL 2023 compared to 118 in IPL 2022. RCB's Falf du Plessis scored the most 50s at 8, while Kohli, CSK's Davon Conway, and DC's David Warner had 6 half-centuries each.

With big scores came big averages. The IPL 2023 average total improved by a whopping 11 runs.

Most 200+ scores in an IPL season
The IPL 2023 season was miles ahead of any other season in terms of most 200+ scores. A total of 37 200+ scores in IPL 2023 were more than twice as many as in any other season (18 in IPL 2022). What is even more surprising is that on 16 occasions, the match aggregate surpassed 400 runs. In 12 matches, both teams surpassed 200+totals, improving on just 5 in IPL 2022.

Mumbai Indians chased down a 200+ total four times, an IPL record in itself, while Kolkata, Lucknow, Punjab and Sunrisers achieved the same feat once.

Most runs in partnership in a season
RCB openers Du Plessis and Kohli were on a roll during IPL 2023 as they finished second and fourth, respectively, in the list of the highest run-getters (Orange Cap). Du Plessis had 8 fifties, while Kohli hit two tons and six 50s. On the way to big scores, they also equalled the record for the most runs in a partnership at 939 runs. Coincidentally, Kohli shares the same record with AB de Villiers for the IPL 2016 season.
