Xiaomi TV Stick 4K Review: Compact design, crisp 4K streaming
Xiaomi TV Stick 4K Review: The remote has a minimalistic design but gives you direct access to some of the most popular video streaming platforms like - Amazon, HotStar+Disney and Netflix.
Xiaomi TV Stick 4K Review: Xiaomi has launched its next-gen streaming device - Xiaomi TV Stick 4K. The new TV stick will help the company to compete with the likes of Amazon and Google who have been leading the pack for a long.
Xiaomi TV Stick 4K Review: Design
The design of the stick is very compact - just 106.8 mm x 29.4 mm. The remote too has a minimalistic design but gives you direct access to some of the most popular video streaming platforms like - Amazon, HotStar+Disney and Netflix. There's direct access to Google Assistant through a dedicated button. Also, you will get other typical buttons like navigation, volume, power and others. There's a shortcut that will help you access all apps in one go.
For connectivity, you will get the Micro-USB port but it would have been better if the company had provided a more popular Type-C port. On the top side of the remote, you'll get a Google Assistant button for voice commands.
While the Assistant works smoothly, the design of the remote is quite user-friendly and you can get hang of it almost instantly.
Along with the Xiaomi TV Stick 4K and remote, users will get a power adapter with cable and a much-needed HDMI extension. An HDMI extension can be really helpful for those who have limited space at the back of TVs.
Xiaomi TV Stick 4K Review: Software
Xiaomi TV Stick 4K supports Android TV 11. However, a lot of smart TVs now run on Android TV 12. Android TV 11 is quite easy to use and features like 'Play Next' is quite useful. It provides an organised home screen and lets you easily navigate through the grid. Users can also customise some displays and set channels of their preference on the home screen for quick access. Xiaomi's 'Patchwall' interface also comes in handy.

Once set up, the Xiaomi TV Stick 4K runs quite smoothly. It's worth noting that during setup, you'll need to select a Google account, which will then synchronise your content recommendations and viewing history to that account.
Xiaomi TV Stick 4K Review: Specifications
Xiaomi TV Stick 4K comes with a quad-core Cortex-A35 CPU and Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. It has 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. As the Xiaomi TV Stick 4K comes with preloaded Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube, the effective space available for installation is around 4.4GB.
In terms of connectivity, Xiaomi TV Stick 4K supports dual-band Wi-Fi - 2.4GHz and 5GHZ, and Bluetooth 5.
Xiaomi TV Stick 4K Review: Performance
The Xiaomi TV Stick 4K renders clear and crisp visuals in 4K and Dolby Vision gives realistic colour and contrast. I really enjoyed watching Top Gun: Maverick on Amazon Prime. Also, Dolby Audio offers good sound quality.
Another interesting feature is that Xiaomi TV Stick 4K has Chromecast and Miracast support. This simply means you can easily cast content from your smartphone, tablet and other devices right to your TV.
Xiaomi TV Stick 4K Review: Verdict
Xiaomi TV Stick 4K, priced at Rs 4,999, can be a good option for anyone looking for an all-new multimedia experience.
