Xiaomi Redmi 5 sale starts; Priced at Rs 7,999 on Amazon, mi.com; Reliance Jio mega offer available

Xiaomi Redmi 5 sale started today at 12 noon. The popular new smartphone from the Chinese company can be purchased from both Amazon, mi.com and Mi Home Stores. The Xiaomi Redmi 5 2GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 7,999, while the 3GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 8,999, and for 4GB RAM variant you have to pay Rs 10,999. Those who are waiting for the new device should know that they will also have the phone of their choice in colours limited to just Black, Gold, Lake Blue and Rose Gold.  Xiaomi Redmi 5 follows in the wake of the extremely popular Redmi 4. The USP of Xiaomi is to ensure it provides good performing smartphones at affordable rates. So for all those who want a good phone under Rs 10,000 bracket, can go for Xiaomi Redmi 5.
 
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has reportedly partnered with Reliance Jio to offer instant cash back benefit of Rs 2,200 along with 100GB of additional data to its buyers. Jio members can now avail an additional benefit of the cashback offer of Rs 2,200, and if they go for the new phone it would cost them merely Rs 5,799. 
 
The Xiaomi Redmi 5 cashback amount would be extended through 44 vouchers of Rs 50 each on the MyJio app after recharging on the Xiaomi Redmi 5. The buyers can redeem these vouchers against future recharges done in the MyJio app. 
 
Redmi 5 reportedly comes with features like 5.7-inch display with a 1440 x 720 pixels resolution, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor with 2GB/3GB/4GB RAM variants, 12MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash along with a 5MP front-facing camera with Beautify 3.0 capabilities and LED flash. Besides, the new device's connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and a 3.5mm headphone jack, along with a 3300mAh battery.
 
Those who possess SBI credit card can have an additional 5 percent discount on Amazon India and Mi.com if they use their card for purchasing the new phone.

It may be noted that Xiaomi last week launched Redmi Note 5, which come in two storage and RAM combinations of 32GB/3GB and 64GB/4GB with a price tag of Rs 9,999 and Rs 11,999, respectively. It boasts of features like 12-megapixel (MP) primary camera and a 5MP selfie shooter with 18:9 screens.
