Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Fan edition with 120Hz panel, triple rear cameras launched at $699

Samsung on Wednesday evening unveiled the much-awaited Fan Edition of its flagship-level smartphone – Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. Positioned in the premium segment, the smartphone brings top-end features like 120Hz refresh rate panel for relatively lesser price. The smartphone has been priced at $699 for the 5G variant.  

“We are constantly speaking to our fans and taking feedback, and we heard what they loved the most about our Galaxy S20 series, what features they used most often and what they would want to see in a new smartphone,” said Dr. TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business for Samsung Electronics.  

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE price  

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE price will start at $699 for the 5G model. There is no word on the price of the 4G model right now. The phone will be offered 6GB RAM + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB models.  

There will be six colour options - Cloud Red, Cloud Orange, Cloud Lavender, Cloud Mint, Cloud Navy and Cloud White. It will go on sale starting October 2 in select markets. The pre-orders start today.  

The company hasn’t announced anything about the India launch.  

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE features  

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE features a 6.5-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,400 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity-O Display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and 120Hz refresh rate. The display is also protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass. The smartphone runs Android 10 with One UI 2.0. The 4G variant is powered by Exynos 990 SoC while the 5G variant gets the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. 

The smartphone also offers a triple rear camera setup that houses a 12-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 wide-angle lens, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter and an 8-megapixel telephoto shooter with an f/2.0 aperture. For selfies and video chats, the Galaxy S20 FE comes with a 32-megapixel selfie camera sensor at the front.
