Redmi A2 launch date confirmed: Check expected features and other details

Redmi A2 launch date: Redmi has announced the launch date of its new budget smartphone in a Twitter post on Friday. The Redmi A2 will be launched on May 19 at 11 am, the smartphone manufacturer said. For the uninitiated, Redmi A2 is an upgrade to its predecessor - the Redmi A1.

It is expected that Redmi will launch two variants of the device, one of which will have a fingerprint scanner. 

According to the Redmi A2's specifications, which were released in European countries, the smartphone would probably have a 6.52-inch LCD screen with a 1,600 x 720-pixel resolution. It is anticipated to use a MediaTek Helio G36 chipset and an Octa Core CPU and come with 2GB and 3GB of RAM. The smartphone is probably going to come with 32GB of internal storage. The Redmi A2 will probably come pre-installed with Android 12.

The smartphone will have a dual rear camera configuration for photography, possibly with an 8 MP sensor and a QVGA camera in addition to an LED light. The smartphone is predicted to have a 5 MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. 

A 5,000mAh battery with a micro-USB port for charging is anticipated to come with the smartphone.

 Indian consumers will be able to purchase new Redmi A2 series smartphones next week.

The smartphone is anticipated to be in the Rs 8,000 price range. A leather-like rear finish is anticipated with it as well.
