Apple iOS 16: iMessage edit, unsend features spark concerns about abuse - Check details
Some are even concerned that Apple has overstepped its boundaries and is not taking users' privacy and safety seriously enough by promising users the ability to change what they've sent to others, it added.
Apple iOS 16: The US-based Apple recently announced the latest software update for iPhones -- iOS 16, which brings a host of new features to company's mobile operating system. Now, a new report suggests that Apple's new iMessage edit and unsend features in iOS 16 are reportedly sparking concerns about abuse among the audience.
This year, at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2022, the tech giant announced a few new features coming to iMessage in iOS 16. According to AppleInsider, the first would be the ability to edit recently sent messages, allowing senders to fix typos they may not have noticed by the time they hit send, IANS report said.
The second was the ability to "unsend" messages and delete them entirely from a conversation. While many users appreciate these upcoming changes, others have wondered if the features could be used for nefarious purposes, the report further added.
Some are even concerned that Apple has overstepped its boundaries and is not taking users' privacy and safety seriously enough by promising users the ability to change what they've sent to others, it added.
With the new iOS 16, now users can lock hidden photos with a Touch ID or Face ID. It means you no longer have to hide a photo for your friends to find in the folder section. However, the hidden folder will still be noticeable in the folder section of the Photos app. But, it will have a lock symbol on the right side. If anyone tries to open the hidden folder, the iPhone will immediately start Face ID/Touch ID looking for the registered face/fingerprint.
