Apple likely to bring AirTags 2 in 2025: Here’s what we know about major upgrades

Apple is set to launch the AirTags 2 model in 2025, upgrading its AirTags unveiled four years ago. According to a report, the development of AirTags 2 is in full swing, and the device could debut as early as 2025. Sporting a similar design to that of AirTags, the AirTags 2 is expected to receive significant upgrades. 

According to the report, most of these upgrades will focus on enhancing privacy, alongside a longer range. Apple is expected to include a more powerful chip in the AirTags 2 compared to the original model. Apple seeks to make it significantly harder to track. In this regard, new privacy features will be integrated with the device. Previously, several cases have surfaced suggesting the use of AirTags to stalk people, which Apple wants to address. Although Apple has implemented measures to mitigate the issue, users would like to completely get rid of the concerns. 

The AirTags 2 is expected to come with a price increase due to the integration of these upgrades. While the report does not explicitly mention the launch date, Apple is likely to launch AirTags 2 alongside the iPhone SE or the iPhone 17 series later next year.
