WhatsApp Update: Hide 'last seen' from specific people on WhatsApp soon

WhatsApp Update: In good news for WhatsApp users across the globe, the most popular messaging application is planning to bring a new feature that will let you hide your 'last seen' status from specific people.

The beta version of WhatsApp for Android now has an option to hide your 'last seen' status from specific people, the GSMarena report said. The feature has been in active development for a few months at this point, and now it's finally live for a subset of those parts of the beta program.

The messaging application might soon make it available to all the people using the beta, and then eventually to the version of WhatsApp everyone's using. This upcoming feature will allow WhatsApp users to set their "last seen" status to be viewed by everyone, their contacts, their contacts except a blacklist of specific people and nobody.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp has rolled out features for specific beta testers that haven't received them in previous updates: a new Contact Info UI, Default Message Timer, 24 hours and 90 days, multi-device changes.

WABetaInfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp, took to micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote: "A People that didn't receive some features like the new contact info UI or multi-device changes, don't worry: more activations will be rolled out soon. WhatsApp has just started to release those features for more beta testers today."

As per a report on WABetaInfo, the new beta update brings in a new user interface (UI) for the contact information section. The design change was already visible to a few beta users with the previous update. The report also mentions that with the new beta version, a few users may also receive the activation of the new interface for Group Info.
