Aadhaar Card is one of the most important identification documents which a person must have for getting most of the official works done. Earlier it was a bit difficult to carry Aadhaar as it was much bigger in size and did not fit small pockets or wallets.

Undergoing a change, now the Aadhaar card will come in a much smaller size and will be portable, more durable. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) last year introduced this new form of Aadhaar which will be reprinted as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) cards, much like the ATM cards that fit in the wallet easily and can be carried without any difficulty.

The compact PVC Aadhaar card will include features like a hologram, guilloche pattern, ghost image, micro text, water protection. These cards can also be easily verified offline.

People who want to avail this compact PVC Aadhaar card can apply for the same via two different methods. Using the first method you will have to visit the official website of UIDAI while in the second method there will be a need to scan the Aadhaar QR code along with the post.

Also, Rs 50 will be charged by the UIDAI for the Aadhaar card, which will be delivered via Speed Post.

Know the step by step process to order a PVC Aadhaar card:

Step 1: Visit the official website of UIDAI by clicking on the link- https://uidai.gov.in/.

Step 2: Go to My Aadhaar section and click on ‘Order Aadhaar PVC card'.

Step 3: You will be then required to enter your 12 digital Aadhaar card number or 16 digits virtual ID or 28 digit EID on the next page.

Step 4: Next, verify your details with an OTP verification.

Step 5: As the OTP verification will be done you will be able to preview your Aadhar PVC card.

Step 6: At last pay Rs 50 to complete your order. As the payment process will be done your order will be placed.

Step 7: Within four to five days the card will be delivered to your home via Speed Post.
