Aadhaar Card: Deadline to update UID card for free extended to March 14
People willing to update their Aadhaar card information for free can do that at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/portal or the myAadhaar portal. However, they have to pay Rs 50 as fee for the UID update at a Aadhaar Card centre.
Aadhaar Card Update Deadline Extended: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on Wednesday (December 13, 2023) again extended the deadline for free Aadhaar card update by three months.
People keen to update their Aadhaar Card at free of cost can now do that by March 14, 2024.
The earlier deadline for the free UID update was December 14.
The service is free at myAadhaar portal. However, at designated Aadhaar Card update centres, one needs to pay a fee of Rs 50 for the UID update.
UIDAI said in its memorandum on Wednesday: “Based on the positive response from the residents, it is decided to extend the facility for 3 more months i.e. from 15.12.2023 to 14.03.2024. Accordingly, the facility for document update shall continue to be free of cost through myAadhaar portal."
How to use free Aadhaar Card update service?
People can access the free service by logging onto https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/portal using their Aadhaar number.
A One Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your registered mobile number.
Go to the ‘Document Update’ option, verify your details and upload documents to revalidate information.
You need to submit the documents related to your identity and address at the UID's official website.
