e-Shram: In a landmark development, registrations on e-Shram portal crossed 24 cr mark on the 73rd Republic Day on January 26, 2022, the Directorate General Labour Welfare (DGLW) tweeted about this achievement from its official Twitter. The portal has been introduced by the Narendra Modi Government for unorganised workers to get themselves registered.

About e-Shram portal
The central government rolled out a national database for unorganised workers for the overall welfare of crores of these workers of the country. The e-Shram Portal was launched on August 26, 2021 and the government also provides the e-Shram card to the workers.
Documents required
The workers should have these essential documents for registration - Aadhaar Number, Aadhaar-linked mobile number and bank account number, for the e-Shram portal.
How to register?
The interested individuals who have note yet registered on e-Shram portal can do so easily by following some simple steps. They are as follows:
Step 1: Login to the official website at eshram.gov.in
Step 2: Click on the 'Register on e-SHRAM' link which is present on the home page
Step 3: Enter the Aadhaar linked mobile number and captcha code and click on send OTP
Step 4: Follow the subsequent instructions to complete the registration process
If a worker does not have Aadhaar linked mobile number, he/ she can visit nearest CSC’s and register through Biometric authentication.
How to update details?
In this regard, one thing must also be remembered, the workers can update their details through visiting on e-Shram portal or through CSCs. Furthermore, once registered, a worker may update his particular details such as mobile number, current address, occupation, educational qualification, skill types, family details and others through visiting on e-Shram portals or nearest CSCs.
The workers must know to update the photo on e-Shram portal, at the time of registration, the photo is pulled from Aadhaar services therefore provision to update photo is not available. However, if worker’s photo is updated in Aadhaar, the same will be reflected on e-Shram portal as well after Aadhaar authentication.
