e-Shram Registration: In a major development, more than 19 crore unorganised workers registered on e-Shram portal. The interested individuals who have not yet registered on e-Shram must login to the official website at eshram.gov.in to complete the registration process.

19 crore registrations
The Directorate General Labour Welfare (DGLW) recently tweeted from its official Twitter handle about 19 crore registrations on the e-Shram portal. The tweet said, "Progress in registration, advancement of unorganized workers... Join E-shram today and go ahead and add others too..."

What is e-Shram portal?
It has to be noted that the central government rolled out a national database for unorganised workers for the overall welfare of crores of these workers of the country. The e-Shram Portal was launched on August 26, 2021 and the government also provides the e-Shram card to the workers.
How to updates details on the portal?
It must be noted that the workers can update their details through visiting on e-Shram portal or through CSCs. Furthermore, once registered, a worker may update his particular details such as mobile number, current address, occupation, educational qualification, skill types, family details and others through visiting on e-Shram portals or nearest CSC’s.
The workers must know to update the photo on e-Shram portal, at the time of registration, the photo is pulled from Aadhaar services therefore provision to update photo is not available. However, if worker’s photo is updated in Aadhaar, the same will be reflected on e-Shram portal as well after Aadhaar authentication.
Documents required
The workers should have these essential documents for registration - Aadhaar Number, Aadhaar-linked mobile number and bank account number - for the e-Shram portal.
How to register?
One must know the steps to register at e-Shram portal. They are as follows:
Step 1: Login to the official website at eshram.gov.in
Step 2: Click on the 'Register on e-SHRAM' link which is present on the home page
Step 3: Enter the Aadhaar linked mobile number and captcha code and click on send OTP
Step 4: Follow the subsequent instructions to complete the registration process
It can be noted that if a worker does not have Aadhaar linked mobile number, he/ she can visit nearest CSC’s and register through Biometric authentication.
