Fake Alert: Viral message claims your SBI account has been blocked, Here's truth

Fact Check: PIB Fact Check has tweeted about a new fake scam alert! The Press Information Bureau's official fact check Twitter handle 'PIB Fact Check' has alerted everyone about a new fake message circulating on mobile phones.

The fake message claims that the recipient's SBI account has been blocked because the documents are expired. So, update now and click on the provided link. The message said 'Dear A/C Holder Your SBI Bank Documents have Expired. A/C will be blocked. Update Your Document Now. Click Link https://sbiekyc.in Update By Net Banking.' To which, PIB Fact Check has said that this message is a scam. Do not respond to emails/SMS asking to share your personal or banking details

"A message in circulation claiming that your @TheOfficialSBI account has been blocked is #FAKE. #PIBFactCheck: Do not respond to emails/SMS asking to share your personal or banking details. If you receive any such message, report immediately at report.phishing@sbi.co.in," PIB Fact Check tweeted.

The PIB also added a link to the SBI's Cyber Cell in this tweet, which provides more information about this fraud message.
