EPF Passbook: How to check your Provident Fund balance by SMS

EPFO Balance: The Employees' Provident Fund or EPF is a savings scheme introduced by the EPFO under the supervision of the Government of India. EPFO account is opened for salaried employees by companies or business establishments they are working for. The employee and the company they work for contribute an equal amount towards savings that can be availed upon retirement or after switching jobs. The interest rate applicable to the EPF contributions is 8.15 per cent.

Members registered on the UAN portal can get their details available with EPFO by messaging 7738299899 from the registered mobile number.

EPFO Balance: How to check PF balance from  SMS

Step 1: First, your mobile number must be linked to the Universal Account Number (UAN). The UAN should also be linked with Aadhaar, PAN, and a bank account.
 
Step 2: Send a text message saying ‘EPFOHO UAN ENG’ to 7738299899.

For receiving the SMS in any language other than English, the first three characters of the preferred language need to be added after UAN.

For example, to receive an SMS in Telugu the SMS to be sent will be “EPFOHO UAN TEL” to 7738299899.  

SMS should be sent from the registered mobile number of UAN.

Step 3: Now, you will now receive your last PF contribution, PF balance, and available KYC (Know Your Customer) information as an SMS from the EPFO.
