Dearness Allowance/Dearness Relief Hike: CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that all the Madhya Pradesh state government employees under the Sixth Pay Scale will also see a proportional increase in their dearness allowance.
Dearness Allowance hike news: Spelling huge relief for government employees in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday announced that the state government would increase dearness allowance (DA) by 4 per cent to 42 per cent — in line with central government employees. The DA hike would come into effect retrospectively from January 1, meaning MP government staff and employees will receive dearness allowance arrears as well. The state government officials informed that the DA hike will benefit over seven lakh government employees in Madhya Pradesh.

Announcing this increase in dearness allowance/dearness relief for government staff in Madhya Pradesh, MP CM tweeted: "We have taken a lot of revolutionary steps in the interest of employees. Now, we have decided to give 42 per cent DA (with a hike of 4 per cent) like the Centre from January itself.”
"Our government has always been an employee friendly government. We have taken many revolutionary decisions in the interest of the employees," he tweeted.
"Recently, I had announced that we will give dearness allowance at par with that of the Center to the state employees, in the same sequence, we have decided to give 42% dearness allowance at par with that of the Center from January itself. From January to June 2023, the arrears of dearness allowance will be given in 3 equal installments. All those employees who are getting the sixth pay scale, their dearness allowance will also be increased proportionately," he added.
Madhya Pradesh chief minister informed that his government had also decided in 2014 to give third pay scale (तृतीय समयमान वेतनमान) benefits to the state government employees who had completed 30 years of service.
And he further stated that the state government has also decided that all those who have completed 35 years of service by July 1, 2023, will be given the fourth time scale pay scale (चतुर्थ समयमान वेतनमान) benefits as well.

Dearness Allowance/Dearness Relief Hike: Arrears
The order stated that the dearness allowance arrears from January to June on account of this DA hike will be paid in three installments.
The CM said that all the Madhya Pradesh state government employees under the Sixth Pay Scale will also see a proportional increase in their dearness allowance.
In the video message, the CM said employees who have put in 35 years of service as on July 1 this year will be given fourth time pay scale.
Reports say that the measures from the BJP government come in reply to the Congress' promise to implement the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) if it wins the year-end Assembly polls.
