DA hiked to 164%, but this does not apply to 7th Pay Commission; these government employees to gain
The Sixth Pay Commission is still applicable in many states including Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal. In some states of the south, sixth pay commission pay scale is still valid in most departments.
The central government has increased dearness allowance (DA) by 10% for the lakhs of employees who are getting sixth pay commission pay scales. These are the employee of the departments where Sixth Pay Commission is still in force and are not getting benefits of 7th Pay Commission. According to the official notification, the DA of these employees has now increased from 154% to 164% and will be applicable from 1 July 2019.
Like Central Departments, the Sixth Pay Commission is still applicable in many states including Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal. In some states of the south, sixth pay commission pay scale is still valid in most departments.
A copy of this order of the government is with Zee Business. It has been said that the departments, corporations which are currently running on the sixth pay commission pay scale, will have a 10% increase in DA amount. The copy of this order has been sent to CAG, UPSC already.
