7th Pay Commission Retirement Age: The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has good news for central government employees. After the Dearness Allowance freeze, social media had been abuzz with runours that central government employees retirement age would be reduced from 60 years to 50 years. Taking cognizance of these rumours, the PIB Fact Check team came forward and issued a public notice from its official Twitter handle saying that there was no basis to them and that the social media buzz is nothing but fake news. PIB tweeted that the Centre has no such proposal to decrease the retirement age of government employees.
The PIB Fact Check team tweeted this from its Twitter handle: "Claim: A web news portal claims Center is likely to reduce retirement age of Central Government employees to 50 In #Coronavirus Crisis. #PIBFactCheck: The claim made within the report is false. Center is neither planning nor discussing any such move."

Earlier, the PIB Fact Check team had busted some other reports circulating on social media platforms that central government is going to reduce various allowances of the central government employees and in such a case central government employees won't be able to avail LTC, Travel Allowance, medicals, etc. This too was quashed.
