7th Pay Commission latest news today: While the central government employees are eagerly waiting for their DA announcement and restoration of the 4% DA announced for July-December 2020, the media reports suggest that the Government may announce 4% DA for Jan-June 2021 during the lead up to the Holi Festival.
7th Pay Commission latest news today: While the central government employees are eagerly waiting for their Dearness Allowance (DA) announcement and restoration of the 4 per cent DA announce for July-December 2020, the media reports suggest that the Government may announce 4 per cent DA for Jan-June 2021 during the lead up to the Holi Festival. Apart from this, the Center may also announce the restoration of the DA which has been on hold since July 2020. However, the central government is yet to make any official announcement in this regard.
As per reports, there is a buzz that the Center may announce 4 per cent DA for Jan-June 2021 and the central government is also planning to restore the DA of central government employees which has been on hold since July 2020. Currently, central government employees are getting 17 per cent DA. If the 4 per cent DA for July to December 2020 is restored and another 4 per cent DA for Jan-June 2021 is announced, then the net DA of the central government employees would suddenly go up by 8 per cent to 25 per cent. That means, a huge jump in the monthly salary of the central government employees.

According to the seventh pay commission (7th CPC) recommendations approved by the Center, the Travel Allowance (TA) of a central government employee also goes up in sync with the DA that means, there will be 8 per cent jump in TA of the central government employees too. So, if the Center announces 4 per cent DA for Jan-June 2021 and decides to restore 4 per cent DA announced for the period July to December 2020, the central government employee's TA and DA will go up by 8 per cent of their basic monthly salary.
The Dearness Allowance or DA is announced twice in a year for central government employees that helps them beat the heat of inflation in the period. First installment of DA is announced between January to June while second Tranche of DA is announced between July to December. So, after the arrival of new year 2021, central government employees have been waiting for the DA announcement by the center. Apart from this, the central government employees are eagerly waiting for the DA restoration as well because due to the COVID-19 pandemic, center had announced 4 per cent DA for the central government employees in second half of 2020 but didn't implemented to keep money in its kitty to fight the pandemic.
