The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited online applications to fill 26 Vacancies for the post of Assistant Public Prosecutor in Central Bureau of Investigation, Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension. Interested candidates can apply for these vacancies on or before March 18, till 11.59 pm.
As per UPSC notification, as many as 13 seats have been set aside for Unreserved candidates, four seats for SC-04, 2 for ST, 5 for OBC and 2 for EWS. Of the 26 vacancies, three posts are reserved for candidates belongs to PwBD with Disability of Blind (B) or Low Vision (LV). Those aspiring to apply for these posts should not exceed the age of 30 years. Relevant relaxation in different categories will be as per government norms
The post offers salary in pay scale Level-7 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC General Central Service, Group ‘B’, Gazetted, Non Ministerial. This means the monthly salary offered for the applicants is Rs 44,900 to Rs 1,42,400 per month. Apart from this, the appointee will be given seventh pay commission perks like Dearness Allowance (DA) and other allowances.
As educational qualification, a degree in Law from a recognized University is mandatory.
DUTIES: Assistant Public Prosecutor will be responsible for conducting the prosecution of cases in the courts, to attend matters arising of or pertaining to court cases/references and to give legal advicein respect of cases investigated by the Branch. Assistant Public Prosecutor will also attend to other works as prescribed by the Department from time to time.
HQ: CBI’s Head Quarter at Delhi. However, candidates are liable to serve anywhere in India.
Application fee: Candidates have been asked to pay a fee of ₹25 only, either by remitting the money in any branch of the SBI by cash or by using net banking facility of the SBI or by using visa/master credit/debit card. No fee for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates of any community. No "fee exemption" is available to Gen/OBC/EWS male candidates and they are required to pay the full prescribed fee.
