7th Pay Commission: Diwali gift! Central govt announces special allowance of Rs 1,000 for these employees

7th Pay Commission: The central government has given a big gift to hundreds of employees before Diwali. The government has decided to give a cooking allowance of Rs 1,000 as per the recommendation of the 7th Pay Commission to hundreds of confectioners and assistant confectioners working in government canteens. The increase is effective from 1 October 2019, and the government has already issued its order.

According to the government order, hundreds of assistant cooks working in non-statutory departmental canteens in central government offices should be given risk and hardship allowance. The central employees are getting the benefit of the 7th Pay Commission from 1 January 2016.

Harishankar Tiwari, former president of AG Office Brotherhood Prayagraj, told that the commission had increased the basic pay by manifold because of which, the allowances were eliminated.

However, later the government resumed some allowances on the demand of employees. These allowances are introduced in the form of bonuses and other benefits.

Harishankar Tiwari told that cooking allowance of Rs 1,000 is also a risk and hardship related allowance, which the government has agreed to offer employees.
