7th Pay Commission: Big Coronavirus relief for these Central Government Employees on availing leave

7th Pay Commission latest news: The Central Government has allowed Central Government Employees who are above 50 years of age to go into fifteen days quarantine to avoid any kind of infection from the deadly Coronavirus. The Central Government has also made it clear that these Central Government Employees need not submit any medical certificate for availing the medical leave for the 15 days quarantine period till 4th April 2020.

This relaxation in medical leave facility will be available for those 50 plus Central Government Employees who are suffering from diabetes and respiratory diseases. The concerned department has issued the required memorandum in this regard on 20th March 2020. The memorandum has been issued after easing in the Central Civil Services (Leave) Act, 1972. This relaxation in leave will be applicable to all Central Government ministry staffs and other Central Government Employees.

The Department of Commerce and Personal Training issued the memorandum in this regard citing this will help the government avoid added pressure on the health services, which is already under a lot of heat caused by the Coronavirus.

For information to the readers, the Central Government has ordered around 50 per cent of the Grade 'B' and Grade 'C' Central Government Employees to work from home. It has also ordered all its consultants to work from home. Apart from this, the Central Government is also mulling to change the working hours. This memorandum will be applicable till 4th April 2020. If a further decision is taken in this regard, then the fresh memorandum will be issued.
