LS Polls 2024 Phase 5: Stock market to remain closed on May 20 for Mumbai elections
The sock market will resume trading normally on Tuesday, May 21 at 9:15 AM, following a fifteen-minute pre-opening session starting at 9:00 AM, according to the BSE and NSE websites.
Indian stock market will remain closed tomorrow, May 20 on account of Lok Sabha Phase 5 polls, according to the holiday calendar available on the BSE.
Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) will also remain shut on Monday for trading in the morning sessions i.e., 9 AM to 5 PM. However, it will remain open for the evening session i.e., 5 PM to 11:30 PM /11:55 PM.
However, the stock market will resume trading normally on Tuesday, May 21 at 9:15 AM, following a fifteen-minute pre-opening session starting at 9:00 AM, according to the BSE and NSE websites.
The banks will also remain closed in Belapur and Mumbai on May 20 due to the LS Polls 2024. Some schools and colleges will also remain closed on Monday.
Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase 5
As many as 49 Lok Sabha constituencies, spanning six states and two Union territories (UTs), are all set to undergo voting in the fifth phase (Phase 5) of the 2024 general elections scheduled to take place on Monday, May 20. Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Maharashtra are among the states slated to cast their ballots under Phase 5.
