Muharram Stock Market Holiday 2024: NSE, BSE to remain closed on this date

Stock market holiday in July 2024, Muharram holiday: According to the BSE's holiday schedule, the leading exchanges, NSE and BSE, will be closed on Wednesday, July 17 for Muharram. According to the BSE's website, the equities, equity derivative, and SLB segments will also be closed on July 17. 

Muharram marks the start of the new Islamic year. This time, it will fall on Wednesday, July 17. Muharram-ul-Haram is the first month of the Islamic Hijri calendar.

The Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) will likewise cease trading during the morning session on July 17, 2024, in observance of Muharram. Trading on the MCX will resume in the evening session from 5:00 pm until 11:30/11:55 pm.
