The train will be flagged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Eastern Railway has started preparation for this. The blue and white train, which is expected to have 16-coach, has already arrived at the Liluah loco shed of Eastern Railway.

The train will bring down travel time between Kolkata and Siliguri, the gateway to the Northeast considerably.

According to Eastern Railway spokesperson Ekalabya Chakraborty, the Vande Bharat Express train between Howrah and Jalpaiguri will leave the Howrah station at 6 am to reach the New Jalpaiguri station at 1.30 pm. 

"After a one-hour stopover, it will leave the north Bengal station at 2.30 pm and reach Howrah at 10 pm," Chakraborty was quoted as saying by PTI.

Chakraborty said that the Vande Bharat Express train between HWH and NJP will run six days a week.

According to India Rail Info, the train number of Howrah - New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express or HWH-NJP Vande Bharat Express will be 22301. On the return journey, the train number of Howrah - New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express or NJP-HWH Vande Bharat Express train will be 22302. 

Vande Bharat Express Howrah-Jalpaiguri Train Route

Vande Bharat Express Howrah-Jalpaiguri Train will run on the route between Howrah Junction and New Jalpaiguri Junction. It will have a halt at Mald Town. Between NJP and MLDT, there will be 43 intermediate stations. Similarly, between MLDT and HWH, there will be 76 intermediate stations. It is to be noted that there is already a Shatabdi Express between Howrah and Jalpaiguri.
