The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has issued an official statement on Friday, saying that each commuter is allowed to carry two sealed bottles of alcohol on the Delhi Metro. This similar to the prevalent norms on the Delhi Metro's Airport Express Line, it said. Earlier, liquor bottles  both opened and unopened were confiscated by the CISF security personnel at Metro stations.

Can we carry alcohol in Delhi Metro?

In case, any passenger is found behaving in an indecent manner under the influence of alcohol, suitable action shall be taken under the relevant provisions of law: DMRC.

"Metro passengers are requested to maintain proper decorum while traveling. In case, any passenger is found behaving in an indecent manner under the influence of alcohol, suitable action shall be taken under the relevant provisions of law," the DMRC release said.

Officials added that in case any passenger is found behaving in an indecent manner under the influence of alcohol, suitable action will be taken against them under the relevant provisions of law.
