Railways recruitment 2018: Indian Railways provides another chance to 70,000 candidates to apply for rail jobs again

Railways recruitment 2018: Showing its human face, Indian Railways took extra steps to provide a second chance to as many as 70,000 candidates whose job applications were rejected due to uploading faulty photos. These aspirants have been asked by the Ministry of Railways to rectify their mistake by July 20.
 
According to reports, Indian Railways received 4.8 million applications for 26,500 posts of assistant loco pilots and technicians, but finding a large number of candidates ineligible due to invalid pictures the national transporter decided to take this compassionate move. 
 
"We realised that among the total applications that were found ineligible, around 127,000 candidates were found ineligible for invalid pictures. Out of the 127,000 people, now, 70,000 have been asked to make the changes in the pictures and upload them again," Rajesh Dutt Bajpai, Director Information and Publicity, Railway Board said.
 
An email and a message have reportedly been sent to the 70,000 applicants to given them a second chance.
 
Notably, the first phase of Railways recruitment 2018 examination for various posts will be held in September-November. 
 
The Railways recruitment examination was postponed from May-June due to a high number of applications, and also because the railways took time to scrutinise all the applications. It is expected that Indian Railways will fill up over one lakh vacant posts by March-April next year.

Notably, around 22.7 million applications were received by the Indian Railways for about 110,000 vacancies it had advertised.
