Mumbai local update: Waterlogging has been reported on the tracks between Vashind and Khadavli stations on the Kalyan-Kasara route. Long-distance trains are diverted or terminated prematurely, affecting train services.
On Sunday (July 7) morning, local train services between Kasara and Titwala stations in Maharashtra's Thane district, which borders Mumbai, came to a standstill owing to heavy rains and a fallen tree, officials said.
In a post on X, DRM Mumbai CR said, "As per RGM Machine’s report, Due To Heavy Rain at 05.30 Hrs, Soil came on the tracks on the Down Line between ATGAON, at KM 96/42. Engineering Control declared Track Unsafe at 06.20 Hrs."
“Current Update: Restoration work in progress time will take up to 2 to 3hrs for normalisation of traffic,” it added.

The following trains were short-terminated and short originated as a result of waterlogging between the Vasind and Khadavli sections:
Train No. 20705 J - CSMT Vande Bharat Express Short terminated at IGP
Train No. 20706 CSMT - J Vande Bharat Express Short Originate from IGP.
The following trains were diverted via DIVA - BSR - JL due to waterlogging between Vasind and Khadavli section:
Train No. 12534 CSMT - LJN Pushpak Express
Train No. 12519 LTT - AGTL Express
Train No. 12336 LTT - BGP Express
The following trains were diverted via JL- BSR - DIVA due to waterlogging between Vasind and Khadavli sections:

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted moderate rainfall and a usually gloomy sky in the city on Sunday. The city is anticipated to receive light rain on July 8 and 9, then moderate rain on July 10.
