Hyundai introduces CRETA Electric in India; here is all that we know

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has unveiled its highly anticipated Hyundai CRETA Electric. The launch was accompanied by a dynamic TV commercial titled "India is now Ready; Electric is now CRETA," emphasising the country's readiness for electric mobility. The commercial highlights the SUV's cutting-edge features, bold exteriors and premium interiors, posing the question, "Why Now?"

Speaking at the launch, Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and COO of HMIL, stated, “The Hyundai CRETA Electric is our first localized electric SUV, continuing the legacy of the iconic CRETA brand. With revolutionary design, technology, and safety features, it will inspire confidence in EVs among Indian customers and set a new benchmark for quality in the EV segment.”

The CRETA Electric offers design inspired by Hyundai’s global Pixel design language:

• Pixelated Graphics: Features a graphic front grille with an integrated charging port and LED tail lamps.
• Active Air Flaps (AAF): Optimized for cooling and improved aerodynamics.
• Aerodynamic Wheels: Equipped with R17 Aero Alloy Wheels and Low Rolling Resistance tyres.

Performance

Acceleration: 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds (long-range variant).

Battery Options:

51.4 kWh (Long Range) with a 473 km range.
42 kWh offering a 390 km range.
Fast Charging: Charges from 10% to 80% in just 58 minutes using a DC charger.

Advanced Technology for Modern EVs

• Vehicle-to-Load (V2L): Powers external devices, turning the vehicle into a portable energy source.
• i-Pedal Technology: Enables single-pedal driving for efficiency and convenience.
• Digital Key: Provides secure access via smartphone or smartwatch.
• Shift-by-Wire System: Ensures intuitive gear control for a seamless driving experience.

Variants and Colour Options

The CRETA Electric is available in four variants – Executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence – with 10 color options, including striking matte finishes and a new ocean blue metallic with a black roof.

HMIL is actively expanding EV infrastructure in India, with plans to install 600 fast-charging stations over the next seven years. Through the myHyundai app, users can access over 10,000 EV charging points nationwide, fostering a seamless EV ownership experience.
