As PM Narendra Modi resigns, these two politicians can be kingmakers to help him get a third term
In Lok Sabha elections, TDP has won 16 seats, while the JD (U) has won 12 seats on its own. Amid such a situation, Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar are emerging as important figures and can be kingmakers to help an alliance form the government.
Lok Sabha Elections 2024: After the results of the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections 2024, no party has single-handedly got majority on its own. While the Bharatiya Janata Party emerged as the single-largest party with 240 seats, it fell short of 32 seats to get the magic number of 272. On the other hand, the Congress, despite a stark improvement from its 2019 tally, has just 99 seats.
While, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which includes the BJP and its allied parties, still have majority with 292 seats, the INDIA bloc, which includes the Congress, and allies have 234 seats.
Prime MInister Narendra Modi submitted his resignation to President Droupadi Murmu today and the 17th Lok Sabha has been dissolved.
The attempt to form a new government by both the NDA and the INDIA bloc are being made. The NDA appears to be in a strong position to form the government. But there are two key players can make or mar the situation of both the fonts.
They are Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) ex-Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar from the JD(U).
In Tuesday's counting, the TDP has taken the ruling YSRCP by the storm in the Lok Sabha as well as Andhra Pradesh assembly elections.
In Lok Sabha elections, TDP has won 16 seats.
On the other hand, the JD (U) has won 12 seats on its own.
Amid such a situation, both of them are emerging as important figures and can be kingmakers to help one form the government.
With the support of Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar, the BJP can form the government for the third time in a row.
