Lok Sabha Election 2024: Celebrations erupted within the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) as the tripartite coalition, spearheaded by the party, gears up to assume power in Andhra Pradesh with a resounding majority.
As early trends indicated a sweeping triumph for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Assembly polls, TDP supporters took to the streets, igniting fireworks and sharing sweets to mark the occasion. A jubilant atmosphere enveloped the TDP headquarters, with leaders and workers alike joining in the festivities.
The TDP-led coalition surged ahead in 158 out of the 175 Assembly constituencies, while the incumbent YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) trailed behind, leading in only 20 segments.
With a commanding lead in 131 constituencies, the TDP appears poised to assume governance independently.
Additionally, the TDP's allies, the Jana Sena Party (JSP) led by actor-politician Pawan Kalyan, were ahead in 20 constituencies, with the BJP leading in seven segments.
Siddharth Nath Singh, BJP's state in-charge, paid a visit to Chandrababu Naidu to extend congratulations on the alliance's decisive victory.
Moreover, the NDA also secured a significant lead in 21 out of the 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state, with the TDP alone leading in 16 constituencies, and its allies BJP and Jana Sena leading in three and two seats respectively.
Except for one seat, the TDP maintained a lead in all the constituencies it contested, while the BJP led in three out of six contested seats, and Jana Sena established substantial leads in both of its contested constituencies.
