17th Lok Sabha Dissolved: PM Narendra Modi submits resignation to President, can he take oath as Prime Minister for the third time?
After the Lok Sabha Election results 2024 results came out, the last meeting of the 17th Lok Sabha was held on Wednesday (June 5, 2024) under the chairmanship of PM Narendra Modi, in which, it was approved to dissolve it. With this, PM Modi has submitted his resignation to President Droupadi Murmu.
17th Lok Sabha Dissolved: The final results of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 have come. Contrary to the estimates made in most of the exit polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fell short of majority number of 272 after winning 240 seats in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. However, the NDA stands with its strong claim to form the government with 292 seats.
At the same time, the alliance of all the major opposition parties- INDIA Bloc- has also won 234 seats.
After the election results came out, the last meeting of the 17th Lok Sabha was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of PM Narendra Modi, in which, it was approved to dissolve it.
With this, PM Modi has submitted his resignation to President Droupadi Murmu. The NDA parliamentary party meeting is going to be held on June 7.

The term expires on June 16
The term of the current 17th Lok Sabha ends on June 16.
The BJP has won 240 seats on its own in the 543-member Lok Sabha while the NDA led by it has got a clear majority.
The main opposition party- the Congress- has won 99 seats.
