Maharashtra Board Exam 2021 Latest Update: Due to the surge in the number of COVID-19 cases across the country, several state boards had decided to either cancel their board exams or postpone them. Recently, there are demands among the students and the parents that the Maharashtra Class 12 Board Exam 2021 should be cancelled keeping in view the COVID-19 condition of the state. The Class 10 Board Exam 2021 students have also asked for a clarification on the assessment scheme for evaluating the Class 10 students.

As per a report by The Times of India, the parents and the students had taken on social media to voice their demands. Yash Bafna, a student and twitter user wrote, "The government is not understanding the pressure, stress and anxiety which each student is going through. Hoping that they don't play with our mental health anymore and take a final call soon! #DONTIGNORETHSTUDENTS."

Last month, on April 20, 2021, Maharashtra education minister Varsha Gaikwad tweeted, "Given the worsening situation of the #Covid-19 pandemic, the Maharashtra government has now decided to CANCEL the state board exams for class 10th. The health & safety of our students and teachers is our topmost priority.#exams #ssc #hsc."

Incidentally, the Maharashtra HSC exams for class 12 board exam candidates was scheduled to begin from April 23, 2021 and end on May 21, 2021. On the other hand, the SSC board theory exams for class 10 were scheduled to take place from April 29, 2021, to May 20, 2021. The exams were supposed to take place in the offline mode.

Though the Maharashtra SSC Class 10 Board Exam 2021 has been cancelled, the assessment criteria have not yet been announced. It has to be noted that keeping in view, the COVID-19 situation in the country, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had cancelled the CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 and postponed the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021. It also stated that the decision regarding the revised CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 date sheet will be taken after a thorough review of the situation on June 1, 2021.

The CBSE has recently announced the evaluation criteria for CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 students. Now, the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 students are also demanding cancellation of the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 due to the adverse COVID-19 situation in the country.
