JEE Main 2023 Marks vs Percentile Rank - Check how to calculate NTA Jee Mains marks vs percentile score
JEE Mains 2023 Result: To calculate marks, students need to count the total number of correct answers and the total number of incorrect answers.
JEE Main 2023 Result: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is all set to release JEE Main result 2023. Candidates will be shortlisted for JEE Advanced 2022 based on the JEE Main 2022 rank and final cut-off. The JEE Main rank list and cut-off marks will be prepared using the normalisation process.
JEE Mains 2023 Result: How to calculate marks
To calculate marks, students need to count the total number of correct answers and the total number of incorrect answers.
JEE Main marks = Total correct questions X 4 – Total number of incorrect questions
For example, out of the total 75 questions (25 each in Physics, Chemistry and Maths), you have 35 correct and 15 wrong answers.
Once raw score is calculated, NTA would then calculate the normalized score in each of the three subjects and the overall normalized score. This would then be computed into a percentile which would then be called the NTA Score.
How to calculate Percentile for JEE Mains Result
The percentile calculates required details like the raw score of all the candidates as well as the total number of candidates who have appeared in one particular slot.
The normalization formula is available on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in.
However, students may please note that since they do not have access to the total number of students as well as the raw score information of others, they cannot estimate their NTA score or percentile.
The same, however, would be computed and shared by NTA once the scorecard is released.

JEE Mains 2023: What is NTA score in JEE Mains
NTA Scores are normalised scores across multi-session papers and are based on the relative performance of all those who appeared for the examination in one session. The marks obtained are transformed into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of examinees. The NTA Score indicates the percentage of candidates who have scored EQUAL TO OR BELOW (same or lower raw scores) that particular candidate in that session. The NTA Score of the Total is NOT an aggregate or average of the NTA Score of individual subjects. NTA score is not the same as the percentage of marks obtained. The candidate’s particulars including Category and Person with Disability (PwD) have been indicated as mentioned by the candidate in
the online application form.
