Delhi Metro sets new record with unprecedented 71 lakh passengers in a single day
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said it remains committed to ensuring passenger safety and comfort while continuously improving connectivity in the Delhi National Capital Region (NCR).
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), which operates the Delhi Metro in the national capital, has broken its own record. Delhi Metro Rail Corp (DMRC) announced on Tuesday that an unprecedented 71.03 lakh passengers traveled by the Delhi Metro rail service the previous day, surpassing an earlier record scaled on August 29.
The latest milestone, touched on September 4, marks the highest number of passengers commuting by the Delhi Metro service, which connects the country's national capital with satellite cities, in a single day. Prior to Monday, the highest number of Delhi Metro passengers was recorded on August 29 at 69.94 lakh, and on August 28 at 68.16 lakh.
This remarkable feat comes after a period of challenges, highlighting the resilience and trust of the citizens of Delhi NCR in the world-class transportation system provided by DMRC, according to a statement by the company.

The Delhi Metro's Yellow Line and Blue Line services served the maximum number of passengers on Monday, with the total number of passengers at 19,35,752 and 18,74,167, respectively, according to the statement.

Currently, the Delhi Metro network consists of about 390.14 kilometres, with 286 stations, according to the DMRC website.
