The government wants companies to focus on the quality of products instead of giving consumers with options to update and replace them. The objective is to discourage the consumers to go for frequent and minor updates being offered by the companies for the products and also replace them with the new items.
For now, consumers are asked by companies to update their phone, car gadgets and other items to keep them updated. Companies also provide consumers with options to replace them with the latest launches.
Once the new guidelines are put in place, companies will have to expand after sales services to the consumers and they no longer can force consumers to update or replace their products.
