Ola Electric faces major setback as CCPA launches consumer complaint investigation
The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has launched a detailed investigation into Ola Electric following consumer complaints, challenging the company's claim of resolving 99.10% of issues. Regulatory action could impact Ola's reputation.
The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has initiated an in-depth investigation into numerous consumer complaints filed against Ola Electric, India’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer. This comes after the company responded to a CCPA show-cause notice on October 21, 2024.
In its response, Ola Electric claimed to have resolved 99.10 percent of the complaints it received. However, the CCPA’s own review suggests otherwise, prompting the regulatory authority to dig deeper into the matter.
CCPA Action Against Ola Electric
As reported by Zee Business, the CCPA has directed the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) to thoroughly examine each complaint and verify compliance with existing rules and regulations. This escalation marks a substantial setback for Ola Electric, raising concerns about its handling of consumer grievances.
With the CCPA and BIS both involved, the investigation could have broad implications for Ola Electric’s reputation and operations as India’s electric vehicle market leader.
