The 2020 Summer Paralympics which has been branded as Tokyo 2020 Paralympic games is taking place at Tokyo, from August 24, 2021 to September 5, 2021.

Team India began its campaign at Tokyo 2020 Paralympics with table tennis on August 25, 2021. At 7.30 AM, Sonal Patel participated in the para table tennis for women's singles in class 3, group D. AT 8.50 AM, Bhavina Patel is set to participate at para table tennis in the women's singles class 4, group D category. 2020 Summer Paralympics: Opening Ceremony
Javelin thrower Tek Chand carried the Indian national flag at the opening ceremony of the 2020 Summer Paralympic Games at Tokyo on August 24, 2021. According to an ANI report, 4403 athletes will compete across 22 sports and 23 disciplines (cycle has two disciplines, track and road). With 4.328 athletes, Rio held the previous record for most athletes.
