Sports development facility, Kicksal by JR Sports has kicked off the first edition of Football 9 by 9 league- K9, in Delhi. Dushyant Chautala, Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana inaugurated the Kicksal's K9 Football League at Chattarpur. K9, is a 9 versus 9 Football League organised by JR Sports & Leisure LLP at Kicksal, Chattarpur. This will be Delhi’s first 9 by 9 semi-professional football league being organised on a FIFA approved Artificial Turf.
Speaking at the inauguration, Dushyant Chautala, Deputy Chief Minister, Haryana, said, “It is indeed heartening to see how companies like JR sports are striving to develop a sports culture and excellence in the country. Sports has to be a way of life for every Indian and the Government too wants to have more growth opportunities and platforms for everyone. Such initiatives will be key and incremental for building the sports economy and how it can contribute to India’s growth story.”
Speaking on the start of K9 League, Ritesh Tokas of JR Sports said, “We have been working with a passion to instill a massive sports culture in the city. Using our experiences in this space, we want to develop sports at the grassroots level in the country, with a special focus on football. We have introduced various new formats and leagues in the region, to nurture budding athletes at the grassroots level and make them ambitious sportspersons. The K9 league is a unique format and we are excited to introduce it in Delhi NCR. With our expertise in curating major sporting events in the country, we look forward to make this one a splashing success too.”
The launch event also witnessed the presence of Lekka (Pop Singer) and Aveka Singh (Delhi Youth Football) at the facility grounds in Chattarpur.
