Recently, the match schedule was released for the year 2023 and the first IPL match for the season will be played between IPL 2022 winner Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings.

A total of 10 teams will be playing head-to-head against each other and others will lift the IPL 2023 trophy. Here is the list of 10 teams and captains

Gujarat Titans- Hardik Pandya
Kolkata Knight Riders- Shreyas Iyer

Chennai Super Kings
Mahendra Singh Dhoni will captain Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2023. Under his captaincy, CSK has already won four times.
Delhi Capitals
Rishabh Pant will not play IPL 2023 due to accidental injury. However, the Delhi Capitals have made no official announcement about the new captain. According to reports, David Warner may lead the team in the IPL 2023.
Gujarat Titans
Gujarat Titans, the defending champion of Indian Premier League, will be led by Hardik Pandya once more.
Kolkata Knight Riders
In IPL 2023, Shreyas Iyer will lead the Kolkata Knight Riders. Before the test series against Australia, the Indian international cricketer paid a visit to the KKR academy.
Lucknow Super Giants
KL Rahul will lead the Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2023. The team finished third in the points table in the IPL 2022. KL Rahul recently married Athiya Shetty, the daughter of Bollywood star Suniel Shetty.
Mumbai Indians
Similar to IPL 2022, Mumbai Indians will be led by Rohit Sharma. He is well-known for his leadership, timing, and six-hitting prowess.
Punjab Kings
Shikhar Dhawan has been named the new captain of the Punjab Kings for the IPL 2023. Despite being a left-handed batter, Shikhar Dhawan is the Indian Cricket team's star opener. He is the second-highest run-scorer in IPL history.
Rajasthan Royals
Sanju Samson led the Rajasthan Royals to the IPL 2022 finals. This year, the 28-year-old will again captain the team in the T20 league.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
The former South African captain will lead the Royal Challengers Bangalore. After Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis will captain the team in the IPL 2022. The previous season of the Indian Premier League saw RCB finish fourth.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
Even though there is no official announcement yet, it is being expected that South African cricketer Aiden Markram is likely to head the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
