SA Vs AUS LIVE Score and Updates, Cricket World Cup 2023 2nd Semi-Final
Both Australia and South Africa had contrasting starts to their World Cup campaigns. At one end, Proteas have had a fantastic campaign since Day One of their World Cup match against Sri Lanka, and have lost just two matches in the overall nine they have played. These include a shocking defeat against Netherlands and a terrible batting collapse against India. Australia, on the other hand, had a poor start to their World Cup campaign as they lost their first two matches against India and South Africa, but they gathered steam after that and went on to win all their remaining seven matches to book a spot in the semi-finals.
Australia's strengths and weaknesses:
After such a bad start, critics suspected Australia's abilities, but the Kangaroos bounced back in style. They won their last seven matches to book a place in the semis. However, the team has had some brilliant individual performances to help them cross the line. Their openers, David Warner and Travis Head, have been on fire from the first ball, giving Australia a strong start. Their middle order is still underperforming as was evident by their collapse in their match against Afghanistan, where they were 91 for 7 at a point and were saved by a brilliant knock of 201 off 128 balls by Glenn Maxwell. With Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne not being able to provide support, Australia has been much more reliant on their lower-order batters to win matches, a loophole that South Africa can also exploit in their semi-final match. However, their bowling department has been performing like a unit. Adam Zampa is their leading wicket-taker of the tournament and is having a great run on the turning Indian pitches. The pacer trio—Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and captain Pat Cummins—is also in great form at the moment and can cause a lot of trouble for Proteas openers with the new ball.
South Africa's strengths and weaknesses:
South Africa appeared to have performed flawlessly so far in the tournament, except for a shocking loss to Netherlands and a terrible batting collapse against India. When it comes to batting, their opener Quinton de Kock, middle-order batsmen Rassie van der Dussen, Heinrich Klaasen, and Aiden Markram have been the team's best players. However, their captain, Temba Bavuma, has been struggling to give a good start to his team along with de Kock. In the lower order, hard-hitter David Miller and all-around Marco Jansen have also been providing good support.

Apart from Jansen, Pacers Kagiso Rabada and Gerald Coetzee have also significantly contributed and destroyed the opposition's batting orders when needed.
Additionally, spinner Keshav Maharaj has been one of the most important components of South Africa's bowling attack because he is Proteas' most economical bowler in this tournament and has continued to bother the opposition in the middle overs.
