India vs Australia 2nd ODI Match Highlights: Done and Dusted as India won the 2nd ODI of the three-match ODI series against Australia on Sunday, September 24 at Holkar Stadium in Indore. India entered into the match with a 1-0 lead after winning the first ODI match in Mohali on Friday, sealing the deal in Indore. Despite losing the toss and put to bat first by Australian skipper Steve Smith, India put up a target of 400 runs in 50 overs.
Courtesy of Shreyas Iyer's and Shubman Gill's brilliant century as well a fiery 72 off 37 balls by Suryakumar Yadav and a well made fifty by captain KL Rahul, India managed to put up this mammoth score on the board. India lost five wickets in the process. This was India's highest total against Australia in ODIs.
In the second inning, pacer Prasidh Krishna sent back Australian Matt Short and captain Steve Smith on his second and third balls of his first over as the hosts took an early command of the match. India rode high on their spin attack, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravinder Jadeja as they took three wickets each in the middle overs.
India bowled the Australian side out in 28.2 over with 217 runs on the board winning the match by 99 runs (DLS Method).
In today's match, Australia are playing without Pat Cummins, Marcus Stoinis, and Mitchell Marsh, while Spencer Johnson made his ODI debut for the Kangaroos. For India, Prasidh Krishna started off after Bumrah took a break to meet his family in India.
