Delhi Metro's revised timings for IPL 2023 matches: The IPL fever has gripped the Capital and Delhi Metro wants to leave no stone unturned to felicitate Delhi Capitals fans commuting to the Arun Jaitley Stadium to watch their team in action.
Keeping in view Delhi Capitals' matches, which end late at night, Delhi Metro has extended the last train timings by 35-40 minutes on all metro lines (except Airport Metro).
The extended train timings will be applicable only on match days (April 4, 11, 20, 29), and (May 6, 13, 20 May), and for the rest of the days, Delhi Metro will follow its normal timings.
The new timings are expected to be a respite for spectators at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, which is host to all of Delhi's home matches, with the first encounter starting today at 7:30 PM today.
The match is expected to finish at 1130 PM, an inconvenient timing for spectators rushing to travel by Delhi Metro to go back to their homes.
The nearest metro station to the Arun Jaitley Stadium is Delhi Gate, which is within walking distance.
Delhi Metro informed that the additional train trips beyond normal timings are planned in such a way that they will provide connecting service to all directions from interchange stations of Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, Kashmere Gate, Kirti Nagar, Inderlok, and Lajpat Nagar.
Delhi Metro says that the additional token vending machines, pre-vended token counters, and staff will also be deployed at the Delhi Gate Metro station to facilitate passengers on match days.
Delhi Capitals are playing Gujarat Titans in the evening match, starting at 7:30 PM, at the Arun Jaitey Stadium today.
