UP Nikay Chunav 2023: Panel on OBC reservation submits report; voters list to be released soon
UP Nikay Chinav 2023: The Uttar Pradesh municipal election is likely to take place later this year. The commission on OBC reservation in UP civil polls has submitted its ort to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Elections will be held to elect members to Nagar Nigams, Nagar Palika Parishad and Nagar Panchayats.
UP Nagar Nikay Chunav 2023: The voters list for the Uttar Pradesh civic election will be released today. Eligible voters whose name doesn't appear on the list or who wish to change/remove their name from the list can apply online. They have to fill a form online on the official website www.sec.uo.nic.in from March 11 to 17. Such voters can also submit forms at booths.
As per the rule, persons who have completed 18 years on January 1, 2023, can register with the state Election Commission.
Applications submitted by the voters will be reviewed by the official and included in the list from March 23 to 31. The last and final list will be released in April.
Earlier on Thursday, the committee, headed by Justice (Reitred) Ram Avtar Singh, that was constituted to look into the issue of reservation for the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in local bodies submitted its report to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The Uttar Pradesh municipal election is expected to be held later this year to elect members of all 734 municipalities. UP, the country's most populous state, has 17 Nagar Nigams, 200 Nagar Palika Parishad and 546 Nagar Panchayats.
